Guardianship of Minor

Guardianship of a Minor under Wis. Stat. 54 may be used when a person is under the age of 18.

You may come to the Register in Probate Office to purchase a forms packet for a fee or to obtain the forms click here, then click on Minors. It may be necessary to hire an attorney to assist you with this procedure.  A Guardian ad Litem must be hired to represent the minor child.    

Once you have completed the necessary forms, take them to the Register in Probate Office located in the minor child’s county of residence for filing. A judge will be assigned and a hearing scheduled.
