About WRIPA |
The first organizational meeting of the Wisconsin Register in Probate Association was held on April 25, 1952 at the Dane County Courthouse. Although only 25 counties were in attendance, much interest was shown from all over the State to have annual meetings for the purpose of gaining ideas and uniformity. Herbert Steinkamp, Rock County Register in Probate, was elected the first President of WRIPA at that meeting. The very first annual conference was held in September of 1952. We are governed by a Constitution and By-laws. The main purpose of the association is to provide education and information to help Registers in Probate statewide to maintain their court records and manage probate cases in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Since many Registers in Probate are also appointed Clerk of Juvenile Court, WRIPA works closely with the Wisconsin Juvenile Court Clerks' Association (WJCCA) to provide up-to-date information and educational opportunities.
